Alexander Fiks, MD
Co-Medical Director, Pediatric Research Consortium (PeRC)
Alex joined CHOP in 2006 as an urban primary care pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his MD from Harvard University in 1997. In 2012, Alex was appointed the Co-Medical Director of the Pediatric Research Consortium, a group that facilitates electronic health record (EHR)-mediated research within CHOP's primary care practices across the region. He has done extensive research using EHR data to help improve immunization rates in urban settings as well as research using health information technology to improve care for children with special health care needs. His primary research interests include shared medical decision-making, health information technology and clinical decision support, and pediatric primary care practice-based research. Alex also serves as a faculty member of the PolicyLab at CHOP, which helps to bridge research, practice and policy. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Harvard University.
