Congratulations to First Graduating Class - Post-Bac Health Informatics Certificate

Congratulations to the first graduating class for Temple's Post-Bac Healthcare Informatics Certificate. Graduates include:

Earn Your Temple Post-Bac Health Informatics Certificate. Submit your application by July 30, 2013 for the Next Class Starting in the Fall of 2013. Classes will take place on the CHOP campus.

The Center for Biomedical Informatics and Temple University's Department of Health Informatics Management, are offering a the Post-Baccalaureate Health Informatics Certificate. In this program, students will gain the training and skills needed to integrate advanced technologies into the field of health care and use electronic data to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of health care services. Classes take place offered on the campus of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

 

  • The program will be based on a Post-BS Certificate in Health Informatics
  • The program requires a total of 12 graduate level credits equal to four courses
  • Students are able to complete the program by attending classes on CHOP’s campus
  • The program can be completed in a 12 - 15 month time frame
  • Students are encouraged to complete the certificate on a cohort basis, which fosters students to actively support one another in the completion of the program
  • Credits earned towards the certificate can be applied directly to Temple University’s Master of Science in Health Informatics Program

Foundation Courses
Management Information Systems (3 credits)
Information Technology for Electronic Health Record Systems (3 credits)

 

Health Informatics Certificate Concentration
Electronic Health Record:Ethical, Legal, and Advocacy Aspects (3 credits)
Health Data Standards (3 credits)

 

Total Certificate Credits = 12 Credits (4 courses)

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Completed Temple University Graduate Education Application
  • Official transcripts from all previous coursework completed
  • Two professional recommendations
  • Professional resume
  • Successful completion of the Computer Competency Exam

FINANCIAL

CHOP employees are eligible to use CHOP's Employee Tuition Reimbursement Program to help cover tuition costs. Eligible CHOP employees must follow the policies and procedures set forth within CHOP's Tuition Assistance Program.
