CBMi's premier full-day annual event, the Healthcare Informatics Symposium began in 2008 as a forum for the Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic regions to present and discuss advancements in healthcare informatics on a variety of issues. Past topics have ranged from electronic health records, clinical decision support, genomic medicine, secondary use of data for research, nursing informatics, HIPAA and HITECH, and more. All of these issues are explored from multiple perspectives including technical challenges, workflow and personnel, compliance and ethics, and informatics research.
Past keynote speakers for this event have included national-level luminaries like IBM's Marty Kohn & Watson, Chuck Friedman, John Halamka, Sachin Jain, Don Detmer, ONC's Judy Murphy, Dan Masys, and Ted Shortliffe.
